Welcome to my Ragged Roots Studio! My name is Lorie Mercer and I was born and raised in a beautiful little fishing town named Ragged Harbour, located on the northeast coast of Newfoundland.
Growing up here was amazing and I had the best childhood imaginable. I have very fond memories of endless summer days, playing on the beach with my friends, visiting my grandparents and riding with my dad in his lobster fishing boat. I have always had a passion for learning and have always enjoyed working with my hands and making things for others. I am very grateful that my parents instilled a passion of “doing” from a very early age. So, when I needed a name for my studio, I decided Ragged Roots seemed very fitting indeed!
